The Writers' Theatre that exists today was created in the Fall of 1997 as an offshoot of the Writers' Union by a group of ten idealistic freshmen who were interested in rolling the writing, directing and perfoming aspects of theatre into one. Their first production, "Looks Like Rain," was performed to an appreciative audience in the basement of Middle Hall. Since then, the Writers' Theatre has expanded with twenty plus members and an impressive resume of productions.
